Step 1: Educate Yourself

Before you can learn to survive school, you must learn about school itself. Read up on your school's 'rules', dress code, etc. Learn about how schools are different in some different places. Just learn as much as you can about school.

Now that you know about school, you have to know exactly what is wrong with it. For that, you should read some of our School Problems page. It's basically links to articles explaining in-depth all of school's problems.

Step 2: Rethink Some Things

In order to see the truth about school, you have to rethink some things that have been drilled into your brain by the education system. Click here to read about the some of the common lies that schools tell you.

You must keep an open mind at all times. Never let anybody else dictate your thoughts. You have control over yourself. Never let anybody tell you otherwise.

Step 3: Defy

Now that you finally see the truth about school, you need to show it. Read this to learn about some simple ways to defy school.

Step 4: Find Allies

People will probably start noticing your feelings toward school. Sometimes people who have the same views as you will strike up a conversation with you about it. However, this is rare. You usually need to talk to others about it. Start talking about it to some people, and you'd be surprised how many people will agree with you after a little persuasion.

Just remember, you're not alone with this. There will be many people that won't budge on their opinions no matter how hard you try. The important part is that you find a few allies and that you work together with them to change things for the better.

Click here to read about ways that you can bring people together against school.

Step 5: Take Action

This is the hard part for most people. If there's something you really don't like about your school that seems to be a small and reasonable change, you need to use some form of protest. Protests can also be used for larger problems, but more drastic measures will be required.

Click here for our guide on how to protest.
